Last week high street store GAME attended a playtest of the new Nintento Wii – their next-gen, wireless, motion sensitive console. And the verdict – bloody good! It looks like Nintendo’s gamble could pay off.
GAME played a handful of games and a couple of technical demos, although the really big name games weren’t present. I expect though we will see more info on the console and games trickled out as the year goes on and Nintendo get closer to launch date.

Nintendo Wii is Touched June 13, 2006

I've just read this article on the T3 website about hooking up the DS with the new Nintendo console, the Wii. I know this was already touted but now they are suggesting a linkup between the DS and the Wii's web browser. This will offer a virtual keyboard style interface on the DS and makes browsing and other web-based activities (email, chat) much easier.
I also had a thought about what else the DS could be used for. Basically what Nintendo have with the DS is a wireless, dynamic, touch-sensitive, full colour, voice-controllable, two screen remote control. Imagine if you were playing some music on your Wii. The touch-sensitive screen would let you control playback and volume as expected, but the top screen could display information about the current track or album, linking to the web and getting live info. Taking this a step further, it could display new emails, instant alerts, rss feeds, instant messaging, schedules/calendars.

On from Eyemaze has just put up on his site an earlier version of his amazing Grow game. Grow v2 is similar to the other grow games, but simpler (only 6 items). Still, its worth a go and still a challenge.
